Pentel GraphGear 1000 is light and comfortable to hold. It has a light yet heavy feel that centers in the tip and the knurled grip, which naturally adds a slight pressure for your writing. The mechanism dispenses the lead smoothly and pushes the perfect amount of lead out the barrel. The metallic grip does not wear off and guarantees a consistent hold throughout a longer lifetime. If your hands sweat more often, this metallic grip will feel more consistent under different states of your hand. The main difference between 1000 and 500 is the retractable tip. GraphGear 500 often suffers from broken tip when dropped on the floor, but 1000 allows the tip to be retract into the body, which makes the pencil much more durable.
