The Palisades name comes from The Pacific Palisades, a region between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica mountain range in Southern California, that offers eye-popping views of its majestic namesake ocean. This collection was created as an homage to this ocean that connects North America to Asia. Each collection is designed in California, and each piece is crafted by skilled artisans in Japan. Palisades Octagonal, is the first foray combining Californian innovation and historical technique.
The pens are precisely, laser-guided machined resulting in precision-cut ebonite barrels which swirl through the body, conjuring an image of undulating currents moving through water. Maki-e artists from Japan hand-layer Urushi lacquer, maki-e patterns, and Raden art to sculpt an homage to the brandās namesake - the modernity of California with duo-toned color ways, the starry nights glistening above the Pacific, and the vibrant marine ecosystem below ocean waters.
The pens have a unique oblique octagonal shape that is not only an exquisite design, but also one that makes these pens pleasing to hold and write with.
